After an increase in rent for the warehouse space, Mike decided to move House of Ghia back out to the rural outskirts of Salem, Oregon. Breaking ground on HoG's very own 5 acres of land to build its warehouse on. Now switching their focus to mainly restorations and the occasional parts sale.
Due to the expansion of the business and the increasing growth over the upcoming years of our restoration department. The department needed to expand their word space to thrive. Soon after House of Ghia moved into a 9,000 sq ft facility to accommodate the workload.
In 2007 Mike Gregory retired from his job at HP and started running House of Ghia full time. Mike then decided to move the business to a 3000 sq ft warehouse on the outskirts of Salem, Or.
In 2005 through a series of interesting events Mike Gregory was given the opportunity to buy House of Ghia. Mike ran the business part-time while still working his full-time job at HP.
The Pattersons enjoyed a growing business in the 90’s and were able to partner with a few US companies to reproduce hard to find Karmann Ghia parts. Among these parts were convertible top bows and dash pads just to name a few.
During the late 80's to the late 90's Jim started running advertising ads in VW Trends, which was a huge help to the growth and success of the business.
In the mid 80’s, Jim Patterson of Albany Oregon retired from teaching job to run House of Ghia full time with his wife and two daughters. As a local Karmann Ghia owner, Mike Gregory felt blessed to have House of Ghia right across town and would visit often.
